Radiator Repairs & Installation in Stoke-on-Trent
Cold radiators, leaks, stuck valves, or radiators that never quite heat the room — SureFlow repairs and replaces radiators across Stoke-on-Trent.
Radiator problems we fix
Leaking valves and unions, pinholed or corroded radiators, stuck or seized TRVs, airlocks, balancing faults, and undersized radiators that leave rooms cold. Diagnosis distinguishes air, sludge, valve and balancing faults, because each has a different fix.
Replacement and upgrades
New radiators are sized to the room, brackets and pipework are checked, and the system is refilled with inhibitor to protect against future corrosion. Finishes from standard white to designer radiators and towel rails can be supplied or fitted customer-supplied. Confirm when quoting.
Safe first steps
Try bleeding cool-at-the-top radiators, and freeing stuck TRV pins (the small pin under the head should move in and out). If radiators stay cold at the bottom, or leaks are active, call rather than persisting. Corroded radiators can fail suddenly.
Sizing, valves and what is included
Replacing a radiator is not only a like-for-like swap. The size matters: an undersized radiator will never heat a room properly, however well the system runs. We check the room and the existing pipework before recommending a size, and tell you if a larger output or an additional radiator is the real answer.
Typically included:
- Removing and disposing of the old radiator
- New brackets and fixings
- New valves where needed — including thermostatic valves so the room can be controlled separately
- Refilling, adding inhibitor and checking for leaks
- Balancing the system afterwards where the change affects flow
Towel rails and designer radiators can be supplied or fitted customer-supplied — tell us the model when you enquire so we can check the connections and output. If you are unsure whether a radiator can be reused after a change, ask before ordering.
Valves are covered in more detail on their own pages: thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) and lockshield valves and balancing.

Radiator problems often overlap with central heating faults and power flushing where sludge is the underlying cause. If one radiator is cold at the bottom, see radiator cold at the bottom.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my radiator cold at the bottom?
Usually sludge settled inside the radiator restricting flow. Bleeding will not fix it. Affected radiators, system age and whether inhibitor has been used all help diagnosis. Power flushing or individual radiator work may be recommended.
Why is my radiator cold at the top?
Usually trapped air. Bleeding with a radiator key typically fixes it. If it keeps returning, the system may be drawing air in and needs investigation.
Can you replace a single radiator?
Yes. Like-for-like swaps are straightforward, and sizes or styles can be changed, for example adding a towel rail, with pipework alterations quoted upfront.
Do you fit thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs)?
Yes. TRVs can be fitted or replaced alongside repairs, so each room can be controlled independently.
